KAFC
- A Fostering Family -

Kent Association of Foster Carers (KAFC) is a Registered Charity supporting, educating and providing social events for Kent County Council (KCC) Registered Foster Carers and their families. We work closely with Kent Fostering and have representation as KCC Corporate Parents and with Foster Talk and their Fostering Advisory Board.

KAFC supports KCC Fostering Families by advocating for them, either locally or nationally, and provides a network of emotional support. All KAFC Trustees are KCC Registered Foster Carers and are thereby uniquely positioned to best understand the challenges and support needed.

KAFC provides education for Fostering Families and to the public at local events, where we promote the recruitment of FosterCarers. At our annual AGM we invite a variety of speakers to share their expertise and we have provided educational opportunities for fostering families through professional theatre productions.

KAFC provides social events. During the Summer of 2024 we held two SummerFest Events, one at Dreamland which 500 individuals from 100 KCC Fostering Families attended and one at Kent Life which 401 individuals from 85 KCC Fostering Families attended. Our SummerFest’s, which the charity financially and logistically supports, enabled KCC Fostering Families to meet and make new friends and to enjoy a Fostering Family Day. For KCC Foster Carers, we are in the process of arranging our 2025 Summerfest Event, keep an eye on our Events Page for further information. KAFC also support events for Foster Carers with our Biannual Ball being an example.
One of our main objectives is supporting each fostering areas Local Social Committee, with their numerous events throughout the year.
